Life

in Question

Launches Fall 2026

The Podcast

Twelve years ago, my life came apart. A neurological condition called BIND took much of the life I thought I knew.

Putting it back together taught me more than I ever expected. And as I started helping others who felt just as lost, I realized something: we all have our own version of this story. Life hands us lemons… then what?

Welcome to Life in Question.

This isn't a show about having answers.

It's about asking better questions.

No shouting.

No drama.

No judgment.

Just honest conversation, a bit of levity, and the occasional hard truth.

I don’t have it all figured out, not by a long shot. But maybe that’s okay. I’d rather stay curious and hang with you, if you don't mind.

I hope you'll check it out.

How I Got Here

Hi. My name is D E Foster. People just call me “D.”

For the past 12 years, I’ve worked as an author, podcaster, and medical researcher supporting people living with a chronic neurological condition called BIND. It’s an amazing community, and I’m deeply proud of the work we’ve accomplished together.

My journey began with a complicated mix of health challenges: BIND mixed with ADHD, long COVID, fluoroquinolone toxicity, and the loss of multiple family members and friends. BIND alone has caused more than 70 distinct symptoms, many severe and life-altering. It even led some of my friends to end their own lives. It’s been brutal. I won’t sugarcoat it.

But living through something like BIND teaches you a great deal about yourself. You learn how to find meaning in hardship, cultivate joy in difficult times, and, most importantly, hold onto hope.

For a workaholic like me, that meant keeping busy. I wrote a book, hosted two podcasts, trained doctors, spoke at medical conferences, coached clients, and co-authored several research papers, including the first study to identify BIND.

Yet one of my biggest frustrations was realizing that I couldn’t make people heal faster. I could answer questions, validate what they were experiencing, and offer suggestions, but I couldn’t speed up time. What I could do was help ease the anxiety, fear, and hopelessness that often came with being sick. I could connect people with a community that understood and remind them they weren’t alone.

And I discovered something unexpected: the more honest I was about my own struggles and failures, the more people connected with me. I became less of an “expert” and more of a friend; someone right there in the trenches with them.

Eventually, people dealing with other illnesses, significant loss, and simply the messiness of life started showing up, too. I realized that the story and message I had developed through BIND resonated far beyond that community.

That’s what led me to launch "Life in Question," a podcast for anyone looking for a friendly, honest conversation about life and all the complications that come with it.

I’ll stop there for now. But if you’re a true glutton for punishment and want to hear even more about my background (fair warning: I have a tendency to ramble), just click the button below.
