about us
who are we?

Uneven Life is a library and archive dedicated to supporting people navigating chronic anxiety, the complications of anxiety medications (benzodiazepines, Z-drugs), and the often uneven path of healing.
What is now Uneven Life began in 2018 as Benzo Free by D E Foster, launched alongside his book and podcast of the same name. In 2020, the work expanded and was rebranded as Easing Anxiety, reflecting a broader focus on anxiety management and life skills.
In October 2024, the site became Uneven Life, a name chosen to acknowledge that healing is rarely linear—marked by progress, setbacks, and periods of quiet endurance.
Over the years this work has included research, education, peer support, and advocacy centered on benzodiazepine withdrawal and Benzodiazepine-Induced Neurological Dysfunction (BIND). While Uneven Life originally offered direct group support and coaching, the site has since evolved into a curated collection of knowledge, lived experience, research, and practical resources.
Whether you are newly searching for answers, deep into the process of healing, or supporting someone else on this path, we hope you find something useful here. The material on this site is offered as a resource, not medical advice. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for personal medical decisions.
Thank you for visiting. We invite you to explore the library at your own pace.
