About

Deborah Bento is a licensed Registered Nurse and Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with experience as an adjunct clinical professor in nursing. She spent over three decades working as a patient advocate before facing a personal health crisis related to psychotropic pharmaceutical harm.

As a "Resource Guide" on the Uneven team, Deborah is a highly valued member of the organization. In September 2025, she took the lead position for web content development where she oversees the creation, updates, and management of the Uneven Life website. This website provides a critical lifeline of information and connection to the anxiety and benzodiazepine communities. Deborah is also an author for the Uneven Blog using her vast experience as a health care professional and person with lived experience to help both our Uneven Life members and the broader online community affected by psychotropic medication harm.

Deborah first connected with D E Foster in late 2024 after attending an informational call where he shared his mission. With her own lived experience, Deborah felt an immediate and deep connection to D’s vision and the community he was building. Inspired by the impact this work had on her own life, she reached out to offer her support.

Outside of her professional life, Deborah is happily married and a proud mother of two wonderful adult children. She enjoys antiquing, decorating, reading, genealogy, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. While many of these passions were put on hold due to her injury, Deborah is grateful to be rediscovering them with time and healing.

Deborah’s message to those facing similar challenges: “Healing happens in its own time. If you are struggling because of psychotropic pharmaceutical harm, please know this is temporary and will not be your forever. I am healing and returning to my life, and you will too. Hold on.
